The Utah Jazz go for another win against the Bucks in Milwaukee

They might need another big night from Bojan Bogdanovic to get past Giannis

The last time we saw the Jazz take on the Bucks Bojan Bogdanovic came up with an incredible buzzer beater to get the win.

But that buzzer beater doesn’t happen if Rudy Gobert isn’t defending the play before, and cause Khris Middleton to travel. Unless something changes, Rudy Gobert is likely to miss the game against the Bucks while he nurses his turned ankle.

Normally this is a cause for major concern for Utah as Rudy Gobert is the cornerstone of what they do on offense and defense.

Against the Pelicans the Jazz were without Gobert and all they did was come out with incredible shooting from Donovan Mitchell, Bojan Bogdanovic and the rest of the team. To beat the Bucks tonight, the Jazz will need that again while facing one of the top perennial MVP candidates in Giannis Antetokounmpo.

What to watch for

Can the Jazz defense slow down Giannis Antetokounmpo if Rudy Gobert doesn’t play?

Against the Pelicans, without Rudy Gobert, the Jazz put on a three point show in the first half. Playing on the back end of a back to back they were able to hold on and get the win. Against the Bucks, with the #4 offense in the league, they’ll need a team effort on defense to get a win.

Obviously, missing the future 3-time DPOY would help, especially in the half-court offense. But without Gobert, the Jazz can do other things to step up. If they can limit the Bucks in transition, where Giannis is so lethal, they might have a chance. But easier said than done. We’ll see just how well they can wall him off.
