Fresh off signing his contract extension with the Utah Jazz, Joe Ingles has been voted the 5th most valuable player on the Utah Jazz roster. Ingles’ story is well documented, from being cut by the Clippers to become a Jazz great. At this point, basketball without Joe just wouldn’t feel right.
Ingles had a bit of a down year last year compared to the two years prior. The load he was asked to carry with such minimal offensive weapons likely had a big influence there. Now he’s transitioning into a Manu Ginobli-like 6th man role as a creator and shooter off the bench. I think this is the perfect way to keep Joe playing at a high level for another couple years.

From his 3 point shooting to his trash talking, Joe has been such an easy player to cheer for in a Jazz jersey. The iron man also has the league’s longest streak of consecutive games played, which doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon. His minutes off the bench will be crucial this year and I’m sure Quin Snyder will turn to him to close games quite often as well.
He’s off to a slow start this year, only hitting 33% of his threes. That should come back around with time and he’ll be back to his old self soon enough. He’s got a very large sample size that shows he’s a consistent 40+% three point shooter.
