Breaking Down the Utah Jazz schedule 2020

The NBA recently released all of the NBA teams opponents that will all be played in a total of eight games. The Utah Jazz rank thirteenth for the toughest schedules. The Jazz play the Nuggets, Mavericks, Thunder, Pelicans, Lakers, Grizzlies, and the Spurs twice. Currently, the Utah Jazz are ranked the fourth seed in the Western Conference behind the third seeded Nuggets and above the fifth seeded Thunder. The Jazz record is 41-23 and they are looking to either keep the spot they are already in or they will challenge the Nuggets or Clippers to either be the second seed or third seed playoff team.

The Utah Jazz have their new acquired point guard Mike Conley back after an injury plagued year/bad year. Bojan Bogdanovic may not return to the Jazz lineup after a season ending wrist surgery which began happening in January. Bogdanovic was a huge add to the Jazz averaging twenty points per game and being a reliable three point shooter. Bogdanovic will likely not play the season but he could potentially play in the playoffs if the Jazz are playing later in the playoffs. Joe Ingles is uncertain if he will play basketball anymore after the Corona virus hit. Ingles is preparing to head to Australia to protect his kids and never come back to America.

Regular Season record prediction

Jazz vs Pelicans 0-1

The Jazz will lose to the Pelicans their first game back but the game will be really close. The Pelicans are desperate to make the playoffs with a rookie Zion Williamson, and a future free agent Brandon Ingram. The Jazz will still make the game close similar to their last match with the Pelicans

Jazz vs Thunder 1-1

The Jazz will beat the Oklahoma city Thunder with the Jazz overall having a better roster than the Cinderella story Thunder. The Thunder do not have the players from last year with Paul George, and Russell Westbrook.

Jazz vs Lakers 1-2

Overall, the Lakers would give the Jazz problems defensively with Anthony Davis, Danny Green, and Javalee McGee. Lebron can see the 18th hole on his career and he will be making sure he wins the NBA finals this year. If the Jazz had home crowd advantage this game would be more interesting but they don't with the procedures the NBA is taking to start the season.

Jazz vs Grizzlies 2-2

The Jazz come back and get a win against a Grizzlies team with a bright future but they are not prepared to win right now. Mike Conley will likely have a great game against his former team, Rudy Gobert will give the Grizzlies front court problems, and the Grizzlies will not contain Donovan Mitchell

Jazz vs Spurs 3-2

The Jazz will face off with the Spurs twice this regular season and Popovich will likely win one of the two games but the Jazz will benefit from the Spurs being inconsistent this year and them being out of the playoffs. The Spurs have questions at point guard, center, and shooting guard which the Jazz fill most of those spots.

Jazz vs Nuggets 3-3

The Denver Nuggets will end the Jazz two game winning streak with an eight point lead. This Nuggets team is better than last year when they lost in the semi finals to the Portland Trail Blazers. Nikola Jokic and Jamaal Murray will be giving Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley a rough time to guard them.

Jazz vs Mavericks 4-3

The Mavericks star player Luka Doncic is reportedly not doing well which will lead to the Mavericks relying On Kristaps Porzingis. Doncic and Porzingis are the two star players on the Mavericks that know they both need to be 100% to win games. This year will be the first year the Mavericks make it to the playoffs after a while and they wont perform great in their first year.

Jazz vs Spurs 4-4

Their is no way Greg Popovich will miss the playoffs after twenty two straight seasons of making the playoffs right? This year, Greg Popovich will be fighting for a playoff berth or he could see his career ending this year missing the playoffs. The Spurs have a solid team on paper with Dejountae Murray when healthy, Demar Derozan, and Lamarcus Aldridge.
