The Utah Jazz (26-7) are coming off their seventh loss of the season, this one at the hands of the Miami Heat. They put up a good fight but ultimately fell short as Jimmy Butler and company handed Utah a rare L. The Jazz now take a quick turn to Orlando to finish up the Florida back to back.

The Orlando Magic (13-20) are sitting at 13th in the East. Having lost their last two games to the Brooklyn Nets and Detroit Pistons, Orlando will really be looking for a win here. The Jazz have won 7 of their last 8 matchups with Orlando, dating back to 2016.

What to watch for

Battle of the All Star Big Men

Both Rudy Gobert and Nikola Vucevic were named NBA All-Stars earlier this week, and both are deserving. Vucevic is putting up 24 points and nearly 12 rebounds per game, while shooting above 40% from three. The Magic have faced many injury problems, and Vucevic’s stellar play has been the only thing keeping them within shouting distance of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Rudy Gobert is the anchor of the Utah Jazz and has been selected to his second All-Star game. Gobert seems to step up his game against other star centers at times, taking the matchup personally. If he’s able to do that tonight, he can neutralize the Magic’s most dangerous player.

How do the Jazz bounce back?

The Jazz have only had back to back losses once this season, and that was back on January 5th and 6th. Since then, they’ve only lost two games, and they’ve responded to each with a double-digit win in the following game. Great teams don’t lose momentum through the season, they forget losses and move on to winning the next game. The Jazz have a whole lot of road games ahead of them in the schedule, getting back into a winning streak during this stretch of the season could give them a really strong hold on the number one seed.

Pregame Highlight

Donovan Mitchell has scored 30+ in both of the previous meetings with the Magic, including this clutch performance. Enjoy some spin moves, floaters, and dunks before the game tonight.
