Utah Jazz embarrass themselves again with yet another loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves

Jazz need Donovan Mitchell back

NBA: Utah Jazz at Minnesota Timberwolves Jesse Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

Alright, Minnesota Timberwolves round 3 and in back to back games. Certainly we won’t see the same results this time around right? The Utah Jazz have the best record in the league for a reason. You can’t drop 2 games in a row to a terrible team. (welp. It turns out that you can.)

Ok thank heavens. Early in the first it looked like the Jazz were finally taking the Timberwolves seriously. The Jazz bursted out to a quick 11 point lead and Ingles led the way with a few threes. Ersan added some of his own and the Jazz built an even bigger lead. It was 33-17 after one.

Oh. My. Gosh. Jazz suck again. Just 14 total points in the 2nd quarter. That was embarrassing. A huge first quarter lead completely disappeared and the Jazz were actually down at halftime. That was inexcusable. I refuse to say anything more about it. Just terrible. I’m not even going to post a highlight like I usually do.

Ok. 2nd half. Let’s see how they respond. Side note, Quin has had some freaking weird rotations in this game. The 2nd half started with a little better consistently. Oh... ok never mind. Jazz offense completely disappeared again. They need Donovan Mitchell in the worst possible way. They scored 33 in the first. Then they scored just 37 in the subsequent 2 quarters. The Timberwolves are NOT a good defensive team. What the heck is wrong with the Jazz right now!? Towns and Russell are having their way at times and this game is not going well for the supposed best team in the West. Jazz outscored by 11 in the 3rd and that 18 (I think) point lead is now a 13 point deficit. Against the Timberwolves. Yuck.

Ok Mr. Niang! Of all people, its Georges doing his best Donovan impersonation and trying to bring the Jazz back in it in the 4th. 3 threes for Niang and now that Jazz are down just 6. That still feels like a huge lead the way the Jazz have played so far. But hey, anything could happen! AAAAAAANNNNNNDDDD it’s gone. Just lazy, pathetic effort. Terrible shooting. Invisible defense. A last minute surge to take the lead just collapses in epic proportions in a perfect summary to end the game just to make it hurt that much worse. I don’t care if Donovan is out, there is no excuse for playing like hot garbage.

Figure it out. (also, the good news is that the Jazz won't have to see Minnesota in the playoffs)
