The Utah Jazz have acquired F Eric Paschall from the Golden State Warriors for a future protected 2nd round pick.

There were a lot of rumors about a trade between the Jazz and the Warriors including a possible trade of Joe Ingles. Those rumors have proven real as the Jazz have brought on the 3rd year forward in this deal. If there was any sort of deal that included Ingles, those have obviously fallen through.

Paschall had a very good rookie season and was named to the All-Rookie First Team. His second season saw his minutes fall as the Warriors were looking to make the playoffs and had a tighter rotation. That second season Paschall’s shooting 3-point percentage went up which is a nice sign.

The other thing to remember is that Paschall and Donovan Mitchell are close friends and Mitchell will likely be very happy about having a close friend on the team. For the Jazz they get to see if they can develop Paschall further while also doing a solid for their star guard. For a 2nd round pick that seems more than worth it.

Overall, it’s been a very good offseason for Justin Zanik who has taken full control of the Jazz. With how active the Jazz were this offseason, the upcoming mid-season trade deadline should be very interesting.
