It was another impressive outing for Trent Forrest and Udoka Azubuike on Day 2 of Salt Lake City Summer League as they led the Utah Jazz White Squad to a solid win against the Memphis Grizzlies, 94-74

Trent Forrest outclassed everyone tonight again. Both nights he’s shown he’s absolutely an NBA talent. Tonight he put up 10 points, 13 assists and 3 steals. Forrest makes everything look easy when he’s on the floor gliding into the lane and finding shooters or lobs. He also plays big and finishes strong with nice touch whether it’s on the floater or going hard to the basket. The future is bright for Forrest who should have a long career in the league playing like this.

Udoka Azubuike used his size to dominate the Grizzlies. Udoka is massive and has great hands and athleticism with his large frame that he used to dunk almost everything. Tonight he was 9/9 from the field for 18 points along with 3 blocks. The biggest issue for DOK is that he hasn’t been able to stay on the floor long enough because it’s apparent he still needs to work himself into game shape. But when he’s on the floor he’s absolutely crushing the opposing summer league bigs. He’s also patrolling the paint and diverting shots showing that he has a chance to be a nice rotation big. Could he be competing for that backup spot with Hassan Whiteside? If he plays like he did tonight, he very well could get that spot.

Two other notable players were Elijah Hughes and MaCio Teague.

Hughes looked much more comfortable tonight and hit some shots. It was nice to see after he struggled to hit shots the night before. Hughes has a tantalizing skill set and the Jazz would surely like to see more from him. It’s nice to see a better overall night where he scored 12 points.

MaCio Teague played for Jazz Team Blue tonight and scored 26. Teague played on the Baylor championship team and showed an ability to score. There may not be room on this Jazz team for Teague but games like tonight will draw interest from other teams and possibly even teams overseas. We’ll see if he can do more on Friday night.
