How I would improve the Jazz

I would be buying distressed assets. The GSW's gave the league a model with the Wiggins trade a few years back. They got a 1st Round pick for him and even though he is still overpaid, he is now a very valuable 3 & D wing (albeit not really an All Star). The OKC Thunder also did the same buy getting 1st round picks by trading Russ for Picks and taking on Chris Paul, and then getting another 1st when they traded CP3 a year later when he reestablished his value.

I think the same could be done with some hidden gems that could blossom in our system.

Candidates that could net us a 1st round pick who we could reestablish their value in Quin's system include: Evan Founier, Tobias Harris, Duncan Robinson

Evan Founier: I think NY would give up that Dallas pick to get off that contract. They have regretted it all year as the team has taken a major step backward. Fournier is a great PnR ballhandler and playmaker to take the spot of Ingles and he has experience playing with Rudy on team France. Plus, I would secretly hope that this could help us get Batum to come in the off-season. He is 6'7" and is a very good shooter and creator. (Clarkson & Dok for Fournier)

Tobias Harris This is out there a bit, but he is being offered in every package with Simmons now as if they 76's realize that t:hey won't get a star. This reminds me of when Brooklyn was trying to get Carmelo and then we swooped in and traded them Deron when they lost out on Melo. He is a player who will never be maximized next to a dominant offensive center.

He has to watch Embiid dribble and cook all game long. Harris's game is a PnR game, and a ball in hand game. He would be great with Rudy screening for him. His value would go back up close to that contract and when next year came I think the negativity of that contract rubs off. I think we would get 2 firsts to off load that contract especially when we send: Bogey, Ingles & Gay.

Duncan Robinson: Ingles & Dok for Robinson. Plain and Simple. Duncan is the next Kyle Korver who is having an off year mostly because of a slow start and Bam's injury. I think by playing with Rudy and in Quin's system he would be unlocked even more than he is in Miami and we would re-establish his value. I think they are looking to move off the money with Hero's sudden emergence to free up money for him, and because they have Strus shooting so well and will need to resign him in a few year.

I think if we sent a couple of 2nds we could get the 26' first from Miami. (Ingles & 2 2nds for Duncan and 26' 1st)

Other players to consider that could garner assets back: Richardson from Boston, Hardaway from Dallas, possibly Beasley from Minnesota.

My main point is, it only takes a few weeks of good play and getting into a better system and or play for a winning team for people to remember why the player garnered their contract in the first place. Also, next year when there is one less year on that contract, and the player is playing well, we may be in a position to sell the player for more assets.
