It’s time for a Jazz vs Pelicans Rematch in SLC

After Saturday’s win versus the Pelicans, it’s time for the Utah Jazz to run it back.

On Saturday, the Utah Jazz (5-11) managed a five-point victory over the New Orleans Pelicans (9-8). Now, just two days later, the Jazz will again take on the Pelicans in Salt Lake City.

Lauri Markkanen will again be out with what is now labeled a “left hamstring strain.” Jordan Clarkson, on the other hand, will be available after missing Saturday’s game due to illness. One thing worth noting regarding the injury report is whose names are not on it. Both Brice Sensabaugh and Taylor Hendricks are absent from the injury report, meaning that they are not on a G League assignment and are available to play. Whether or not that means we will see them get minutes remains to be seen.

Help is on the way for the Pelicans as Zion Williamson is expected to return to the lineup tonight after resting for Saturday’s game. CJ McCollum and Trey Murphy will remain out with injuries.

The Jazz won on Saturday through their effort on defense, receiving praise from Coach Hardy as he noted, “This is for sure the first game this year we’ve won because of our defense.” That same effort will have to be there tonight if the Jazz want to win the game. If not, Coach Hardy may have some words for anyone who isn’t giving full effort on the defensive end. We’ll see if the Jazz can stack two good defensive games in a row.
