Rudy Gobert sets NBA Dunk Record for most dunks in a season

The best import from France since the Statue of Liberty surpasses Dwight Howard for most dunks in a season.

NBA: Utah Jazz at New York Knicks Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

Rudy Gobert now holds an NBA Record. Against the Phoenix Suns, Rudy Gobert dunked for the 270th time this season which is now an NBA Record. Dunks have been tracked as a stat by the NBA since 2000. What’s even better is Rudy still has the rest of the Phoenix Suns game and seven games after that to pad that record.

[As I type this, Rudy Gobert just dunked for the 271st time for the season on an amazing putback.]

Rudy Gobert has a Defensive Player of the Year trophy, an All-NBA team credit, two 2nd round playoff appearances, and now an NBA dunks record. He surpasses Dwight Howard who had 269 dunks.

Not bad for a guy who’s never been an All-Star.
