Ferrell is an undersized guard that can score the ball. He’s a career 36% three-point shooter that saw a downtick in his shooting percentage last season.
This comes as a bit of a surprise for Utah who looks to have filled out their roster nicely with a mix of young and veteran talent that mixes together nicely. Most likely this is a move to provide depth and security for Utah with a shortened season coming that will surely see a mix of injuries and rests for players, especially with the return of a season that will have multiple times where the Jazz will play four games in five nights.
It’s possible the Jazz are looking to fill out their G-League roster as well as the G-League will be starting soon.
Whatever this means, at worst it provides depth for a team that is gunning for as high a seed in the playoffs as possible.
