With the 16th pick of the 2015 NBA Draft . . . the Boston Celtics select Devin Booker from the University of Kentucky. They really would have loved to have Sam Dekker fall one more spot, especially since their small forward rotation for next season currently looks like Gerald Wallace and Evan Turner playing out of position. Jae Crowder is a free agent, and so is Brandon Bass. They need help inside, but best player available is how Danny Ainge will play this; and in this case that's a shooting guard. Booker is a lottery level talent, so Ainge will be smiling to add this guy to the mix. How he fits in with the mix, on the other hand, will be the larger challenge. Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, and Marcus Smart all currently exist as guys who want to play, and all play point guard. People will be playing out of position next season for Brad Stevens - and adding another guard gets them into "Too Many Cooks" territory. Booker is a smart player who shoots very smartly. He's not Paul Pierce, no one is, but he's not going to hurt his team when he's out there. Which is more than what I can say for some of the players on the Celtics lately.
