With the 22nd pick of the 2015 NBA Draft . . . the Chicago Bulls select Montrezl Harrell from the University of Louisville. Harrell is a power forward who is juu-uust a little short at 6'7 / 6'8. Of course, playing for the Bulls that have Joakim Noah and Pau Gasol out there his lack of size isn't going to hurt him as much. My Pet Montrezl is ridiculously built, and he's a terrific energy guy. He does not tire. He jumps all day. He's explosive. And this allows him to rebound with the ferocity of a much larger player. He has some shooting range, but he's not a shooter. One thing Thibs will love is how physically he defends. This is pretty much going to be his calling card at the NBA level, and Chicago is a great place to learn how to hone that skill. Yes, the Bulls aren't exactly hurting for talent inside (beyond Joakim and Pau there's also Taj Gibson), and it would seem like Mike Dunleavy 's impending free agency causes some worry about small forward . . . but you can't pass up on Montrezl. The money Chicago saves on not getting Dunleavy back can be used to re-sign Jimmy Butler -- leaving Tony Snell, Doug McDermott, and ROY runner up Nikola Mirotic to handle small forward duties. Which unleashes small power forward Montrezl on second units.
