According to the most trusted source of NBA News for us Utah Jazz fans, Jody Genessy of the Deseret News, lotto pick Trey Lyles appears as though he is going to finally sign with the team. Lyles has been a notable absence from both Jazz practices and any summer league action so far. The 6'10 bigman from Kentucky has a high basketball IQ, great court vision for a bigman, and is a capable offensive force on his own. And a strong bigman with a high celing appears to be just what the Utah Jazz summer league team is missing. (Sorry Jack Cooley, I don't think you have much upside. But as far as Neanderthals go, you've done very well for yourself! Jokes, I love ya Jack!) We last saw him at the introductory press conference where Lyles, along with fellow 2015 NBA Draft pick Olivier Hanlan were presented. (Maple 1 and Maple 2) Since then, Lyles has been out of sight but not out of mind. As Jody tweets:
Trey Lyles has landed in Salt Lake City.

Trey Lyles will be getting a physical at the University of Utah Healthcare. If all goes well, he will sign this afternoon.

It's uncertain whether Trey Lyles will play during the Utah Jazz Summer League.

To clarify reports out there, Trey Lyles has not signed yet. He is expected to sign this afternoon if he passes his physical.

My best guess is that Trey Lyles won't play until Thursday. I'd think the Jazz would like to get him in front of the home crowd once.

It's always possible that Trey Lyles won't play until Las Vegas, too.

This is good news, and I think Jazz fans need to slow their roll. He's a good player. He's a chemistry fit. He upgrades our bench, and our bigman rotation. And he's a Jazzman . . . or will be in a few hours.
WELCOME HOME TREY2 and/or MAPLE1!
EDIT: Done deal:
Utah first rounder Trey Lyles gets done: four years, $10.4M.
