Yahoo! Sports' telepath Adrian Wojnarowski has just announced that the Utah Jazz and the Cleveland Cavaliers have made a multiple team trade.
Utah's trading John Lucas, Malcolm Thomas and Erik Murphy to Cleveland for Carrick Felix, future 2nd and $1M, sources tell Yahoo.

In Murphy, Lucas and Thomas, Cavs get three non-guaranteed contracts to facilitate trades -- or a trade. Another step toward Kevin Love.

This is the smaller deal Cavaliers have been pursuing in recent days to try and roll into the larger scope deal with Minnesota.

Yikes!
So, in one way, this solves some of our problems with what to do with these guys -- as their non-guaranteed contracts become guaranteed after the beginning of August. We loved John Lucas III off the court, Malcolm Thomas showed us a lot during Summer League on the court, and Erik Murphy just defected to Finland, so he was clearly a double agent or something.
Who is Carrick Felix?
Carrick Felix was drafted #33 overall in the 2013 draft (so, the Trey Burke draft). He is a 6'6 shooting guard who is only 23 years old and played at Arizona St University. He was born in Las Vegas, Arizona. I learn things every day.
As a three year player in college he averaged 10.2 ppg (.456 / .326 / .704) and 4.8 rpg. He made more than one three a game. In the NBA-DL he played for the Canton Charge in but nine games, and finished with 11.0 ppg and 5.2 rpg. He shot 33.3% from outside. And with the Cleveland Cavaliers last year he got into only 7 games, 38 total minutes, and even Ian Clark felt bad for him.
The deal helps the Jazz get rid of guys they didn't need. It helps the Cavs load up on crappy guys that somehow will get them Kevin Love . And the Jazz also get another future 2nd round pick -- and cash. (More info on our draft picks here).
More details as I get them. And thanks to Mychal for called me -- and to Sony for having my phone actually work for once -- to notify me of this.
Watch these vids.
He is represented by Todd Eley, who is also Richard Jefferson's agent. Small world.
