The Utah Jazz are wasting no time this free agency period. First they signed Bojan Bogdanovic, now they have replaced Derrick Favors with Ed Davis. Ed Davis agreed to a two year $10 million contract with the Utah Jazz. Ed Davis is leaving the Brooklyn Nets. There he averaged 5.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 0.4 blocks a game for the Nets.
Free agent F Ed Davis has agreed to a two-year, $10M with the Utah Jazz, CAA agent Aaron Mintz tells ESPN.

Most likely Ed Davis will be coming off the bench for Utah. It’s still up in the air who will be Utah’s starting power forward. Whether it will be Bojan Bogdanovic or if that starting four is still to be signed in free agency. While this hurts to see Derrick Favors gone, Ed Davis is a fantastic player who is very Derrick Favors-like in that he will do whatever you need him to do to win games. He’s a great role player who is humble enough to fill in the gaps every game.
Ed Davis is a good basketball player and does good things to help your team win the basketball games. https://t.co/rGjXt5mf3X

This also means that the Utah Jazz were not confident in third year player Tony Bradley’s ability to be a contributing factor next season. That could change, but Ed Davis is a good role player to have on a championship contending team. Ed is most likely taking up all of Utah’s MLE.
Welcome to the Utah Jazz, Ed Davis.
