The Utah Jazz (1-0) are up on the Los Angeles Clippers (0-1) in their best of seven, first round series of the 2017 NBA Playoffs. All-Star forward Gordon Hayward was a single point shy of dropping 20-10, he’ll have to settle for 19 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and a perfect 5/5 from the line in a two point victory. George Hill had the unenviable task of slowing down future Hall of Fame point guard Chris Paul, and hit some clutch shots and moved the ball. But the team as a whole had a tremendous bench performance boost from:
- Joe Johnson (21 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 3 threes, 1 block, and the game winner),
- Derrick Favors (15 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, and 1 free throw in the final seconds of the game),
- Rodney Hood (8 points, 2 threes, 1 rebound, 1 assist),
- and even Jeff Withey (3 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block) contributed in limited minutes.
But their performances were needed because the Jazz starters suffered a big blow with the injury to Rudy Gobert.

More on him next. But first, where are you in your Kool-Aid for this team right now?
They won a big game. They eliminated home court advantage. They beat a team that was “18-2” against them in the last 20 games (read my post on that foolishness, though). Everyone seems to recognize the flaws of the Clippers as each moment adds more pressure to them.
Good lord, Doc Rivers letting some serious steam off after a question in the post game gets him HEATED. pic.twitter.com/N0Gz8MUTRC
