Bojan Bogdanovic has morphed into the Boogey-Man this season

He’s been the perfect addition to Utah’s roster

NBA: Utah Jazz at Phoenix Suns Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

I was so excited when the Utah Jazz signed Bojan Bogdanovic this offseason. He was very high on my list of desired targets, but I didn’t think bringing him to Utah was realistic. I also had no idea it would be just this successful.

After 16 games played with the Jazz, Bogey is a vital piece to this beautiful Jazz puzzle. His scoring has been a significant addition and has given the Jazz several wins this year that they wouldn’t have got in past years. Outside of Rudy Gobert, I feel like he’s the most consistent and reliable player Utah has. I don’t think anyone in Jazz history has gained my complete confidence faster than Bojan.

Dennis Lindsey said over the summer that the Utah Jazz needed to add some snipers to this roster. Well Bogdanovic has definitely delivered on that end. He’s been an absolute assassin so far this year. Scoring a career high 20.7 points, he’s shooting nearly 45% from 3 on 7 attempts per game. When his feet are set for a catch and shoot, I swear he’s shooting 97% this year. And even coming off screens he’s been absolutely money. The Boogey-man’s been unleashed and he is just killing everyone we face.

But it’s not just his shooting. He’s really good off the dribble as well, again far better than I expected. I knew he wasn’t just a shooter, but I wasn’t expecting him to beat his man off the dribble and get to the rim 2-3 times every night. And I didn’t think he’d be able to elevate and throw it down like he does either. At 30 years old, I have no reservations about him slowing down over the life of his 4 year contract.

Like turkey on thanksgiving, he has fit right into Quin Snyder’s offense. He’s averaging a career high in assists, rebounds, and even blocks this year. And, surprise surprise, he’s even having the best defensive year of his career so far. In fact, check this comparison out

As the Jazz 3rd/4th best player, this is ridiculous production from Bogey. I mean, he's scored no less than 12 points in every game he’s played this season. He’s scored 20+ 8 times already! That help and spacing has been huge for Mitchell’s development. Plus, he’s even providing good entertainment off the court:

I feel like I can already confidently say that he’ll be the best free agent signing in Utah Jazz history when all is said and done. In fact, he’s been one of the most impactful free agent signings this season league wide.

fI’ve liked Bojan for a while now, but now that he’s a Jazzman, I love this guy. And we’re not even a quarter the way through the season. He’s bound to provide plenty more highlights that I’ll watch more times than I care to admit. Because everyone’s favorite Croatian is having a career year and there’s nothing you can do about.
