I miss basketball so much.
If you, like me, are going through withdrawals due to the lack of basketball right now in the world, you might find yourself searching for something to fill that hole in your heart. In reality, there’s nothing that can fill that void quite like actual basketball itself. But here’s something that might help a little.
Here’s the top 10 plays from the Utah Jazz season (so far?).
10. Bogey Nutmeg
Bojan Bogdanovic is an absolute wizard. Bogey channeled his inner Andrei Kirilenko, with a beautiful nutmeg pass leading to the beastly Rudy slam.
9. Royce bodies the Freak
Giannis Antetokounmpo didn’t see that coming. Next thing he knew, Royce O’Neale was dunking on his head. GET UP ROYCE.
8. Spida Tomahawk
Donovan Mitchell could have filled up this entire list himself. His dunks are incredible. This tomahawk jam gives me life.
7. Rudy dancing in the paint
They say Rudy has no post moves. I present exhibit A.
6. All-Star Gobzilla
Rudy and Donovan in the All-Star Game was one of the highlights of the season. Seeing Rudy ball out, and get this huge putback slam, was an awesome experience to witness as a Jazz fan.
5. Magic Spida
THE DUDE LITERALLY LEVITATES, THIS IS INSANE.
4.Don’t Jump, Rook
Most NBA players get out of the way when they see Donovan Mitchell taking off in the lane. Gotta give props to the rookie Rui Hachimura, but if you’re gonna stop Spida you gotta bring it harder than that!
3. Rudy denies the MVP
This sequence was unbelievable. The second half was ruined due to a terrible travel call, but Rudy’s block on Giannis is amazing just by itself. Not many guys can say they denied the Greek Freak at the rim. But Rudy can.
2. The unbelievable block
With the game on the line, and when he seemed to get beat of the dribble, Rudy Gobert did the unimaginable. I still don’t know how he got to this block. It still doesn’t seem possible that he got that ball before it hit the glass. I don’t know how he did it, but he did.
1-A Bojan Game-Winner, Volume 1
The shot heard round the Utah Jazz world. In possibly the game of the year, Bogdanovic called game from the corner. Absolute magic.
1-B. Bojan Game-Winner, Volume 2
This might go down as the best shot of the season not just for the Jazz, but for the entire NBA. The degree of difficulty is outrageous. Bojan does not care for your degrees of difficulty, he only cares about getting those buckets and that W.
Ok, so there’s 11 plays. SUE ME. I just couldn’t separate the two bogey winners. They both deserve all the glory.
Hopefully there are more plays to come this sesaon. For now, we’ll be watching these on a loop.
