I generally have a mental block when it comes to linking to my own stuff, but I strongly encourage you to read this
post, which is Mehmet Okur's look back on his playing career. Alternatively, you could listen to the interview on 1280.
It's a fun, nostalgic trip down Memory Lane and includes gems like his first-ever exchange with
Jerry Sloan, how he started playing basketball, and getting pulled over for speeding on the highway in his Ferrari. On the not-so-fun side, Memo also talks about his Achilles' injury and his recovery process, and how he felt about being traded by the Jazz.
There's also a separate
post from yesterday that focuses more on Memo's new "consulting" role with the
Jazz, what he sees from the current Jazz team, FIBA rules vs. NBA rules, and his shooting advice to
Enes Kanter if anyone is interested.
Love you, Memo.

What are the NBA and Commissioner Adam Silver doing to address domestic assault issues (only three of 14 NBA players accused of domestic violence were suspended last year)?
Randy Rigby gives us the low-down:
We are addressing it. And we’ve been very proactive. Recently, in fact, some memos have been coming out to all of the teams about how we properly deal with, not specific issues, but how we are treating one another, as a society, as a workplace, and in our homes and in our lives.
And you know what? It comes back, you know, to me, of, we, too many of us wanna be regulated, and a lot of people don’t wanna be regulated. It comes, really, down to character, and it comes down to values.
And all along, for the Utah Jazz, of, people have heard it time and time from myself and from the Utah Jazz, but it comes back to those critical values that we’ve always held to.

HAVE YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO BE ABLE TO TELL MARK JACKSON HOW YOU *REALLY* FEEL ABOUT HIM? DO YOU WANT THE CHANCE TO CUSS MARK JACKSON OUT IN PERSON? IF SO, HERE'S YOUR CHANCE!
I have not purchased this single, but I assume it's about
Mark Jackson's stripper mistress who tried to extort money from him after he sent her pics of his junk, that he delusionally thought were sexy and attractive.

If you answered "Karl Malone," congratulations! You answered correctly!
Kevin Durant quote from
Esquire interview:
"I’ve gotten close with Karl Malone, who's called me numerous times when he can see on TV that I'm struggling, feeling bad after a loss. He can tell."

With Memo's return to the organization, there's been some discussion on whether the Jazz should retire his jersey.
A) Should the Jazz retire Memo's jersey?
B) Whose jersey will be the next to be retired by the Jazz?
C) Whose jersey do you
want the Jazz to retire next?
