Utah Jazz 104 Los Angeles Clippers 78 Game Recap: No Starters, no Problem!

Jazz bench blow the smokestacks off Clippers’ bench.

Another preseason game, another victory over the Flops. If you’re a Clippers fan, this was a ho-hum game without much significance. If you cheer for the good guys, this was a fun preview of what our second and third-unit guys will be capable of in the regular season.

The Jazz Won Because:

Well, what do you know? Our bench is better than the Clips'. It's not hard to find a better point guard than Raymond "Feltdown" Felton, after all. We are DEEP. The "Subway Sub of the Game" was Shelvin Mack, most likely our third-string PG, who put up 14 points on 5-7 shooting, 3 assists and two rebounds.

The Clippers Lost Because:

They rested Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, and Chris Paul. Doc Rivers knows his rotations at this point, and Quin Snyder is still experimenting. Lethargy and apathy were the words of the night for LA.

You May Have Forgotten About:

This:

And this:

Yeah, he’s kinda fluffy and old, but man, can that guy pass. Our already-beloved BoBo (Government name: Boris Diaw) finished with 5 assists. I would argue that, at this point, none of the other Jazzmen are on his level yet as far as assisting goes, not even the point guards.

Up Next:

The Jazz will play host to Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers this Wednesday at the Aunt Viv, as Amar so affectionately calls Vivint Arena. I've been to three preseason games against the Blazers, and we've lost all three, so I guess I'll stay away from this one in hopes that we win. More importantly, the regular season starts next Tuesday against those same Blazers, you guys!

Solid win. Enjoy this one, Jazz fans.
