According to both the Utah Jazz and Deseret News super beat writer Jody Genessy, has a low back contusion. As a consequence he will miss tonight's open practice / scrimmage. That's a shame, because it happened in an almost meaningless way when Portland Trail Blazers guard fouled him in transition.

Jazz F Gordon Hayward has been diagnosed w/ low back contusion, resulting from fall suffered after being fouled late in Monday’s game vs POR— Utah Jazz PR (@UtahJazzPR) October 16, 2015
As a result, Hayward will not be able to participate in tonight’s open practice at EnergySolutions Arena. Status moving forward: day-to-day— Utah Jazz PR (@UtahJazzPR) October 16, 2015
Sitting him out is the right thing to do at this point in time. It will allow for more time on the court for, , , , and Treveon Graham. If G-Time is day-to-day we have nothing to worry about. The Jazz next play a game on Sunday the 18th, against the same Portland Trail Blazers.
