Donovan Mitchell continues to show that you don’t have to be in a large market to be a big deal. The budding superstar has sponsorship deals with Stance, Adidas, Vivint Smart Home, and now add BODYARMOR Sports Drink to the list.
Donovan Mitchell and BODYARMOR announced their partnership today. He joins other athletes like James Harden, Mike Trout, Dustin Johnson, and Andrew Luck in promoting the company. As a part of this roster of players, Donovan Mitchell will be featured in numerous digital and social media campaigns along with appearing at local events to promote BODYARMOR.
One of BODYARMOR’s shareholders is Kobe Bryant. That’s how Donovan Mitchell discovered the brand.
“Growing up, I loved watching Kobe play. When I noticed he was building this brand and leading a new, younger generation of top pro-athletes, I knew that I wanted to be part of it,” said Donovan Mitchell. “I’m thrilled to join the BODYARMOR team and excited to show fans everywhere that there are better hydration options out there.”
Kobe Bryant even had high praise the young athlete.
“Donovan Mitchell is one of the most electrifying, young players in the game today,” said Kobe Bryant. “Given how much the brand has grown in the last year, we’re excited to add a player of his caliber to our already impressive roster and show fans everywhere that today’s top athletes are ditching their outdated sports drinks and choosing BODYARMOR.”
It appears that more and more brands are seeing Donovan Mitchell as a vital part of their sponsorship portfolio moving forward. Donovan Mitchell continues to surprise us all.
BODYARMOR is a premium, sports drink that provides superior hydration. It is packed with electrolytes, coconut water and vitamins and is low in sodium and high in potassium. Created in 2011 by Mike Repole and Lance Collins, BODYARMOR contains natural flavors and sweeteners and no colors from artificial sources. In 2013, Kobe Bryant joined the BODYARMOR team as the number three shareholder in the company. In 2017, BODYARMOR launched BODYARMOR LYTE, which has all the same nutrients as BODYARMOR Sports Drink but is naturally sweetened and has only 20 calories per serving; and BODYARMOR SportWater, a premium sport water designed by athletes, for athletes with a performance pH 8+ and electrolytes for sport. In August 2018, The Coca-Cola Company purchased a minority stake in BODYARMOR, making them the second largest shareholder behind Repole.
