Donovan Mitchell played both baseball and basketball while growing up. He even wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps as a professional baseball player. He probably would have had an injury caused by a collision at home plate during high school not changed his plans for a summer. Luckily, we still get to enjoy Donovan Mitchell’s skill set as a pitcher/short stop on the basketball court. Check out this fastball to the outside of plate—er, I mean—paint to Georges Niang.

Donovan Mitchell may have been close to being an All Star baseball player, but thank god he chose basketball.
